Wisconsin's oldest member-based nature preserve is being honored for its ethics.
The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor captured the Ethics in Business Award from the Door County Rotary Clubs for being the most ethical non-profit organization in Door County.
Ridges Executive Director Steve Leonard says it's a "real honor" to receive the award. He says the nature preserve has a "great partnership" overall with the Rotary, working together on a student exchange program which involves kids from both Door County and Milwaukee.
Nominees for the honor are judged on Rotary's "four-way test" of truthfulness, fairness, goodwill and mutual benefit and also go through an interview process.
The honor was presented at an awards banquet February 28 at Stone Harbor Resort & Conference Center in Sturgeon Bay.
