Hundreds of people, including Alice in Dairyland, flocked to the Door County Wine and Cheese Gala Friday night to support the Southern Door FFA Chapter. Music filled the air as folks filled their plates with cheeses of all types and sampled wine from six area wineries.

65th Alice in Dairyland Rochelle Ripp helps a door prize winner choose a brick of cheese at the Door County Wine and Cheese Gala Friday in Sturgeon Bay. Ripp says she shows students across Wisconsin where Door County is by using her Wisconsin-shaped hand and pointing to the "thumb" of the state.
The silent auction offered gift baskets, artwork from local artists, Packers memorabilia and much more; later in the evening the live auction got the crowd going. Alice in Dairyland Rochelle Ripp made an appearance and helped Southern Door FFA Alumni President Rich Olson distribute door prizes. Ripp says she enjoys teaching students across Wisconsin about what Door County has to offer.
In her role as Wisconsin’s agriculture ambassador, Ripp has realized just how important programs like FFA and her work in the schools are.
Olson says the turnout for the gala was tremendous. He is proud to offer Southern Door FFA members the opportunity to grow in leadership experience and education through scholarships funded by the gala.

A small sampling of the assortment of cheeses from cheesemakers across Wisconsin. Fifteen cheesemakers and six Door and Kewaunee County wineries showed off their best products Friday night at the Door County Wine and Cheese Gala in support of the Southern Door FFA chapter.
