Every year, Sturgeon Bay High School has the honor of hosting a few foreign exchange students from around the world. This year the school has six students: Yixuan (Odelia) Long from China, Rodrigo Cardoso and Higor De Resende from Brazil, and Silke Luhrs, Celina Reinhold, and Felix Witten from Germany.
All of the students, except for Witten, came in the mid-summer of 2012 and will stay until the middle of this summer.
Long says that she enjoys America because she “has more freedom.” When asked about her overall experience in Sturgeon Bay, she says she is “so happy to be an exchange student.” Odelia also says that she “misses her friends and family back home.”
All six students agree that they love America and all of its freedoms, but they do get homesick every now and again.
