Students at St. Mary School in Luxemburg are preparing for a week of fun activities planned in celebration of National Catholic Schools Week.
Principal William Matchefts says each day has a different theme. Tomorrow is Rainbow Monday; each class is assigned a different color to wear. Tuesday students will hear from workers in the agricultural industry and have the chance to role play as an agricultural worker. Wednesday is Color Day and students will be showing their Blue Jay pride at a pep rally in the afternoon. A formal dress up day is planned for Thursday, along with an all-school bingo game. Then, on Friday the students will participate in Jump Rope for Heart before getting cozy in their pajamas for a movie.
St. Mary School educates 80 children in 4K through sixth grade. Fifth and sixth graders play basketball and sixth graders can join the Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team. The school also partners with the Luxemburg-Casco Band, as fifth and sixth graders can learn to play an instrument.
All this week we’ll be highlighting the Catholic schools in Door and Kewaunee Counties. Tomorrow Bob Dohr will take a peek at what the students at St. John Bosco in Sturgeon Bay are up to.
