The Door County Sheriff's Department conducted a random search for drugs at two Door County schools Thursday and both passed the test.
Sheriff Terry Vogel says canine units were used to search for drugs at both Sevastopol and Southern Door and no illegal drugs were found at either facility.
"We normally go through the entire school and then do the parking lot for students' vehicles and we have had some hits in the past at some of the schools," says Vogel. "So it's just always a good sign that it was clean."
Vogel says the searches are done at the request of the schools to make sure students are learning in a drug-free environment. He says the random searches will continue.
