A delegation of Door and Kewaunee County residents will again be making a trek to Madison this spring to participate in Door-Kewaunee County Legislative Days.
Rob Burke, community development educator with UW-Extension Door County says the two-day event is geared toward educating legislators and state agency officials about some of the problems and projects the two counties face and enlisting the state's help to address them.
Right now Burke says the focus is on rounding up ideas from people on what they think should be included on the agenda. Burke says the issues should be specific to Door and Kewaunee counties.
Burke says some early ideas have centered on boosting local tourism promotion and controlling the spread of the invasive phragmites.
Those interested in submitting ideas can contact Burke at 920-746-2260 or rburke@co.door.wi.us. The Kewaunee County contact is Claire Thompson, community development educator with UW-Extension Kewaunee County, 920-388-7136. Or take an online survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SC7Q39G.
Burke says the exact dates for Legislative Days haven't been set but he expects the event will take place sometime in April.
