The annual Character party for families and children will be held at the Sturgeon Bay Library on Saturday January 26 at 12:30 pm. This year's event will focus on the beloved author for children, Dr. Seuss, and will include stories, games, crafts, snacks and a special visit from the popular character, The Cat in the Hat. Parents and grandparents are also invited and encouraged to bring a camera for a marvelous photo opportunity of their child with this popular guest.
Beth Lokken, the children's librarian, will read four well-known stories by Dr. Seuss in which the pages will be projected on a screen so all the children can follow the stories as they are listening to the text. The snack for the event will follow the theme of Green Eggs and Ham, sure to be a hit with the children.
The annual event has always been a popular one, especially with the colorful balloons which the children can take home. The Friends of Door County Libraries is proud and pleased to sponsor this event again, and encourages parents and grandparents to bring the little ones in their lives to enjoy it with us.
