The possibility of putting in sidewalks along Egg Harbor Road will be discussed Tuesday by members of Sturgeon Bay's Board of Public Works.
Sidewalk installation is one aspect of a broader improvement plan proposed for the busy corridor. The plan would also include a storm water management pond and drainage system.
The Board of Public Works is comprised of the members of the City Council plus Mayor Thad Birmingham. The board will meet prior to Tuesday's Council meeting.
When the Council meets, aldermen will take up a proposed ordinance that would re-work the city's sign code. Community Development Director Marty Olejniczak says current requirements for signs in the residential zoning district are confusing and contradictory. Olejniczak says the issue has existed for some time but the need to address it moved up the list because St. Peters Lutheran Church recently requested a new sign.
The Board of Public Works meeting is at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The Common Council meeting will follow.
