The popular Door County Idol competition is coming up Saturday night and Southern Door senior vocalist Luke Spude can't wait to get on stage.
Luke first heard about Door County Idol from his eldest brother, Lee Spude, who won the contest his senior year in high school.
Luke's first piece is Feeling Good by Michael Bublé which he says is very upbeat.
Luke says his second selection, It's Your Song by Garth Brooks, has a real personal feel to the composer.
At first Luke says he wasn’t too excited about this song but once he sang through it, he said “Dang it! I really like it but I just don’t want to like it!”
Luke's preparation for the contest has been singing everywhere he can -- like in the shower, car, and of course at school. His real preparation will be right before he hits the stage. He says he takes deep breaths and will try to put on a good show.
Saturday's night's performance begins at 7 p.m. at the Southern Door Community Auditorium.
