Destroyers To Hold First Open Tryout Jan. 19

Door County's new semi-professional football team will be holding its first open tryout on Saturday, January 19 at the Sturgeon Bay branch of the Door County YMCA.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and tryouts start at 6 p.m. The cost is $10.

Players will be timed and tested in the 20-yard dash, pro agility and shuttle run. They'll also be tested in group drills within their specific position.

The Door County Destroyers signed 32 players to their roster at an organizational meeting December 14 in Sturgeon Bay.
