If you've got some non-working holiday lights you don't have to toss them in the garbage.
You can donate them.
Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin is announcing a new holiday lights recycling initiative. Habitat ReStores throughout the state, including the Door County ReStore at 410 North 14th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay, will be accepting non-working or no longer needed holiday lights throughout the holiday season.
"Don't throw those old strings of lights away, donate them to our ReStore," says Leslie Boden. "We'll recycle them and use the proceeds to assist low income families in our community."
Lights will be collected during regular ReStore hours: Thursday and Friday 8-4 and Saturday 9-2.
Vintage Tech Recycling is helping with the transportation and recycling of the lights.
