Young Adult Parent Support "YAPS" Program Please consider "Adopting a Child" this Holiday Season from the Young Adult Parent Support Program.
"YAPS," a program of the Wellness Center of Door County, is planning its annual celebration for Sunday, December 16th, including a visit from Santa at "Jump On It" in Sturgeon Bay.
The YAPS program provides FREE individual and group support, education and family building events. How does this work? Gift Cards can be picked up at the Wellness Center of Door County or Bay Pharmacy. There are trees at both locations with a variety of cards and wish lists to choose from. This is a wonderful opportunity for your family to provide a service for our community. Your family chooses one of our Gift Giving cards which reflect your selected child's age, sex and wish list for Santa. Purchase one or more of the items on your wish list.
We ask that all gifts be left unwrapped and that donors provide wrapping paper and tape with their gifts. This gives the young parents the opportunity to become part of the gift-giving process and a more connected feeling to providing for their children. Simply return your gifts to your contact person/site on or before Saturday, December 8.
Donations may also be delivered to YAPS at 448 N. 11th Place, Sturgeon Bay or pick-up may be arranged by calling (920) 559-0200. There is also a collection bucket located at The Wellness Center located at 312 N 5th and Jump On It located in the Cherry Point Mall in Sturgeon Bay. Gifts can also be returned to Bay Pharmacy in the Cherry Point Mall.
In many cases, the gifts you purchase for this child will be the only gifts they receive this holiday season. It is truly a magical moment for a child to witness gifts underneath their tree on Christmas morning. Please join me in providing that memory for the children in our program.
