On November 14, Sevastopol students and other Door County schools traveled to Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay to attend Mini Business World, an annual event that teaches students about Wisconsin’s economy and the ins and outs of running a business. Sevastopol High School business teacher David Phillips says the event is a great learning experience.
After being put into teams, students were told to make products for children. Examples of the ideas that students came up with are high tech diapers, next generation pet rocks, and glow-in-the-dark bike helmets.
Senior Brandon Thornton, who also attended the event last year, says he learned a lot at the session, including the fact that Wisconsin is a leading manufacturing and production state.
Mini Business World was a fun way for students to learn about the world of business and will be back next year to run another program.
