Taxpayers in Egg Harbor will be shouldering the same burden in 2013 as they did this year.
Village President Nancy Fisher says the 2013 budget approved Monday by the Village Board carries the same tax levy as the 2012 spending plan: $1,007,939.
She says the mill rate will decrease slightly, from $2.83 to $2.76.
Fisher says trustees also reviewed the five-year capital improvement plan, a big piece of which will be devoted to the future Cowles Village Center.
Village property owners will be able to get a look at the five-year capital improvement plan when their tax bill comes from the county. Fisher says the village will include a copy of the plan with the bill.
In other action, the Village Board appointed Plan Commission member Joe Smith to fill the trustee's seat vacated by Barbara Cammack. Cammack resigned from the Board in October because she and her husband purchased a home in Florida and they'll be spending winters there. Cammack's term -- now Smith's -- expires in April 2013.
