Students, staff, and community members gathered at Gibraltar High School Monday to thank Door County veterans for all they've done.
Colonel Scott McFarlane, Door County Veterans Service Officer says it's important to recognize the veterans but also to keep in mind their families who go through hard times.
Colonel Tim Lawrie, the featured speaker at Monday's Veterans Day ceremony, also emphasized the sacrifices veterans' families make.

Gibraltar senior DJ Tesnow, who recently enlisted in the Marines, says it's important to salute the efforts of veterans, and says he'd be honored to be recognized in the future.
"If I survive I'll be sitting in one of those chairs," said Tesnow.
Part of the ceremony involved reading the name of each Door County veteran in attendance.
