Sevastopol High School has recently purchased new equipment for their metal and wood shops. The biggest item that was brought into the classroom is a CNC router. Taking up just over two thirds of a $23,000 grant from the Raibrook Foundation, the CNC router is completely put together and is only waiting for electrical work before it can be up and running. Teacher Carl Semrow already has plans for what he wants to use the new machine for.
Senior Roark Davidson, who helped Semrow put together the router, has his own favorite part of helping to build it.
Along with a metal lathe and milling machine, which were also purchased, the CNC router will help to sharpen students’ learning experience in shop classes at Sevastopol.
