
Gibraltar High School is the site of this year's Door County Veterans Day ceremony.
The annual ceremony, which rotates among the mainland Door County high schools, will be held at the Gibraltar High School gymnasium Monday, November 12 at 10 a.m. Door County Veterans Service Officer Scott McFarlane says the guest speaker will be Colonel Tim Lawrie. Local veterans organizations as well as the Gibraltar High School Band and Choir will participate.
The Washington Island ceremony will take place Monday, November 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the Trueblood Performing Arts Center on Main Road. State Representative Garey Bies will be the featured speaker.
For the Gibraltar event, Door County Trolley will be providing rides for veterans who are unable to drive themselves. The trolley will depart the Sturgeon Bay City Hall parking lot (near the memorial) at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, November 12. A.J. Frank, owner of the trolley, will have space for 26 veterans. The public is encouraged to attend the ceremonies and support local veterans.
