Sentencing is scheduled to take place Thursday in Door County Court for a 33-year-old Brussels mother convicted of felony child neglect in the death of her eight month old daughter.
The sentencing hearing for Melissa Martinez has been rescheduled several times, most recently on September 19 so the defense could obtain a private pre-sentence report.
The pre-sentence investigation was filed Monday.
Martinez pleaded no contest June 11 to a felony charge of neglecting a child resulting in death. A charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle was dismissed as part of a plea agreement but will be considered at sentencing.
Martinez is accused of leaving Elena Martinez strapped in the car seat of a running SUV with the heat on for several hours October 19, 2011. Authorities say Melissa Martinez had been drinking.
Martinez faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison and up to $100,000 in fines.
