The Egg Harbor Business Association (EHBA) Board of Directors has met to announce this year's eight-member board. The board is proud to announce Jeff Larson as President, Richard Wegner as Vice-President, Kate Rericha as Secretary and Deb Merkle-Schubert as Treasurer.
Larson has been with the Landmark Resort for seven years as Director of Marketing & Sales. Larson has more than 25 years of experience in marketing and has served as the EBHA's president for the past two years. Larson has served as Chair of numerous committees, and was vice president prior to his presidential position. He is most proud of leading the efforts for two new Egg Harbor events this year -- the Door County Sports & Classics Car Show August 18 and the Egg Harbor AleFest September 22.
The board has elected Wegner as its new vice-president. As Wegner's second year on the board he brings with him a master's degree in public policy and administration from UW-Madison. Wegner and his wife Pam are the owners of Liberty Square, The Bistro at Liberty Square, and Galileo's Italian Food & Bar. Jacksonport was their vacation home for 32 years and now they can boast permanent residency for the past five years.
Rericha was re-elected as the EHBA secretary. Rericha is the Director of Grant Writing for Birch Creek Music Performance Center, a summer music school in Door County for advanced young musicians.
Merkle-Schubert has accepted a re-election to continue as the EHBA treasurer. Merkle-Schubert is the Financial Center Manager for Baylake Bank in Egg Harbor. She is a fourth-generation Door County native and has been affiliated with Baylake Bank for more than 25 years.
Don Helm was elected as a director on the Board at the Fall Annual Meeting. Don and his wife Polly are owners of Door County Nature Works and Design Works in Egg Harbor. As a previous member of the EHBA Board of Directors, Helm brings with him several years of serving and jointly overseeing the activities serving the Egg Harbor Business Association. Helm also serves on the YMCA Board and Facilities Committee and the Egg Harbor Village Park's and Public Works Committee.
