Help kids learn firsthand what voting is all about by volunteering at this year’s “Kids Vote” on Tuesday, November 6th. Help students register, learn about a ballot and then hand out “I voted” stickers as you instill the importance of voting to our youth. Kids Vote locations are at official area polling places throughout Door County and volunteer shifts are 4 hours in length. Help students as they participate in an authentic voting experience. The Ridges Sanctuary will hold its annual Natural Christmas event on Saturday, December 8th from 3 to 6 pm. Volunteers are needed to prepare cookies and other goodies before the event or place and light candle luminaria on the trails, help with craft projects, and serve refreshments the day of the event. Come join them for a wonderful holiday tradition and, as a bonus, all volunteers who help on Saturday are invited to a private wreath making workshop on Sunday. Third Avenue Playhouse is looking for volunteers to sell tickets and hand out will call tickets for their performances. Prefer to sell concessions? TAP needs your help there too! Volunteers are needed to sell candy, soda, coffee and other treats before and during performances. Short training sessions are required, but volunteers usually get to watch most of the performance. The Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons are right around the corner and with these holidays comes the sound of the Salvation Army bells! Volunteer to be a bell-ringer at one of the 11 locations in Door County. Ringing starts Friday, November 16th and runs through Christmas Eve.
