Staff and students at Algoma Elementary School will be hosting a Veterans Day Celebration on Monday, November 12 to honor those who served the country in the military.
The event will include a meal for veterans and senior citizens provided by the school's POPS (Powers of Positive Students and Staff) organization. It will be served by the students in the elementary school's cafeteria starting at 12:45 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling the school office at 487-7001 by November 4. The dinner will be limited to 100 people.
There will also be a Veterans Day program, open to the public, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the elementary school's auditorium. The program has become an annual tradition at Algoma Elementary and is one of the school's favorite events of the year. It will include patriotic presentations by the students, school bands, and choruses. No reservations are needed.
