The Texas man arrested in Door County during an internet sex sting made his initial appearance in a Sturgeon Bay courtroom Monday.
Steffen R. Kraus of The Colony, Texas faces felony charges of child enticement and using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime.
Authorities say the 41-year-old was arrested after he allegedly traveled to Door County to pay for sex with an underage girl.
During the court appearance Kraus indicated he was still in the process of hiring an attorney so Judge Todd Ehlers scheduled an adjourned initial appearance for Monday, October 29 at 10 a.m.
Kraus was one of five people arrested during a recent multi-jurisdictional operation to crack down on child predators. He's being held on $50,000 cash bond.
