A mother and daughter team are spearheading an effort to make a difference for those in need in Door County.
Paula Reichel and her daughter Caitie, a junior at Sturgeon Bay High School, are co-chairs for Door County's "Make a Difference Day" October 27.
They're asking schools, businesses, families, friends and congregations to join them in donating personal care items or donating monetarily. The items will be given to local agencies in Door County to be distributed to those in need.
Items being collected include toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, deodorant, combs and brushes, shampoo, lotions, hand soap, paper products, diapers, wipes, tissues, toilet paper, bleach and laundry detergent.
Drop locations (now through Oct. 25) are:
Sturgeon Bay: Door County Advocate, City Hall, Bay View Lutheran Church
Brussels: Marchants
Fish Creek: Main Street Market
Sister Bay: Piggly Wiggly
Participating schools will be collecting items October 22-25.
Monetary donations can be made payable to 'Bay View Lutheran Church' and can be sent to:
