Sturgeon Bay is one of many area high schools holding homecoming celebrations this week, as one might have gathered from the amount of toilet paper occupying the branches of the school's stately silver maple at 12th and Michigan.
The Powder Puff football game is set for Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Memorial Field.
Friday's activities will include a 4 p.m. parade through downtown Sturgeon Bay, a 5 p.m. tailgate party outside Memorial Field, a 6 p.m. bonfire and the 7 p.m. football game.
The homecoming dance will take place Saturday night at the high school gym.
Friday's parade will begin at the high school parking lot, travel down Michigan Street to Fourth Avenue, Fourth Avenue to Jefferson, Jefferson to Third Avenue, and Third Avenue to Michigan Street. Area businesses willing to donate pallets to the bonfire should contact Steve Schmelzer at 746-5708.
This homecoming the theme days at the school are a bit different than in years past. Student correspondent Carly Sarkis will have more about that in a story later this week.
