Waterspouts around Door County aren't a common occurrence but they do happen. Some recent photos snapped by Craig Konowalski are proof of that. Craig got these shots of a waterspout that formed over the waters of Green Bay northwest of Sister Bay on September 18 around 6 p.m. He says the waterspout only lasted about three minutes then "just evaporated." Right after that he says they felt strong winds that whipped in one direction for a minute and then swung around and blew from the opposite direction just as hard. Small hail and a short downpour of rain followed.
