Monday will be the first day on the job for Door County's new administrator but Maureen Murphy says the position is one she's "been looking forward to and planning for for 20 years."
In fact Murphy says starting the job will be "the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow."
Murphy says over the last month administrative assistant Lori Holtz has been busy arranging lunch meetings so Murphy will be able to meet with each of the 21 county supervisors and find out what's important to the citizens of Door County.
Murphy, the former village administrator in Slinger, says her top priority is making sure Door County is providing the best services that it can to its citizens.
The county has been without a permanent administrator since Michael Serpe was dismissed March 30. Door County Corporation Counsel Grant Thomas has been serving as interim administrator.
