Statewide land trust support association Gathering Waters Conservancy has named The Ridges Sanctuary its Harold "Bud" Jordahl Land Trust Pioneer.
Gathering Waters Executive Director Mike Strigel says this year's milestone birthday at the Ridges is something to celebrate.
Strigel calls the Ridges unique, sitting on a special landscape, and owning more history than any other land trust in the state. Strigel says another major element to the Ridge's status as a Pioneer is its commitment to education.
There will be a gathering of about 300 leaders to witness the presentation of the award in Madison at Gathering Water's Leadership 10th annual Award Celebration on October 4th.
Gathering Waters Conservancy supports Wisconsin's 50 local land trusts.
