Bond Set At $1 Million In Door County Murder

Bond has been set at $1 million for an Illinois man accused of murdering a 21-year-old woman at a Door County resort. 

Brian Cooper, 35, of Plainfield, Illinois was in Door County Court for a bond hearing Tuesday afternoon. Cooper's accused of killing Alisha Bromfield, who was six-and-half months pregnant, at the Sand Bay Beach Resort in the Town of Nasewaupee.

The two were in Door County together to attend a wedding in Egg Harbor.

Formal charges have not been filed, but District Attorney Ray Pelrine told the court he anticipates filing two charges of first-degree intentional homicide and one count of sexual assault.

Cooper is scheduled to return to court September 5 at 8:30 a.m.
