The old Pamida store in Sister Bay is getting ready to re-open as a Shopko Hometown store.
Sister Bay Village Administrator Bob Kufrin says Shopko has scheduled a grand opening for Thursday, September 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Pamida and Shopko, two Midwest-based general merchandise retailers, completed a merger in February. At that time the company announced that six Pamida stores would be closed and the remainder would be converted to the Shopko Hometown store format by the end of 2012.
The conversion includes new interior and exterior signage, updated supplemented fixtures, improved store design and layout, as well as an expanded merchandise mix.
The store is located at 2541 S. Bay Shore Drive in Sister Bay.
