Former Door County Administrator Michael Serpe has a new job. He's been hired as a consultant by the Village of Egg Harbor.
According to a statement from the Egg Harbor Board of Trustees, the board has retained Serpe as a consultant for the next 90 days to ensure the orderly transition to a new clerk/treasurer as well as to oversee the implementation of new software and systems. The trustees say Serpe will report to the board on progress with financial software implementation, personnel core competencies, 2013 budget preparation and, if necessary, matters dealing with transition and replacement.
Serpe was dismissed as county administrator in March.
Interestingly, one of the candidates looking to take over Serpe's old job is the village administrator in Egg Harbor. Josh Van Lieshout is one of three finalists for the position of Door County Administrator.
