Another change could be coming to a recently rebuilt intersection on Egg Harbor Road in Sturgeon Bay.
The so-called 'Hardee's intersection,' where 8th Avenue and Georgia Street meet Egg Harbor Road, was rebuilt last year to improve traffic flow. Now the City Council will talk about the idea of removing the stop signs on Egg Harbor Road at Georgia Street and at 8th Avenue.
The move is a recommendation from the Council's Parking & Traffic Committee, which is looking for a way to alleviate congestion there, especially during the Bayview Bridge closure in 2013. The panel is recommending that a period of public education take place before any traffic controls are removed.
The City Council meets Tuesday, August 7 at 8 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 421 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay.
