Rain may be a four letter word but a lot of northeast Wisconsin residents are happy to wake up to some rain today. Some areas -- including Sturgeon Bay -- got some heavy downpours.
That rain is causing some minor flooding in some spots. In fact the National Weather Service in Green Bay has posted an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Door County until 9 a.m.
Doppler Radar estimated that up to an inch of rain has fallen over the Sturgeon Bay area since 4 a.m. and an additional inch is likely by 9 a.m.
Runoff from the rainfall will cause minor flooding to occur, especially along small streams and near low water crossings. Some locations that will experience minor flooding include Sturgeon Bay, Egg Harbor and Jacksonport.
Door and Kewaunee counties remain under an open burning ban because of the dry conditions.
