Just because you drove yourself to the local bar doesn't mean you have to drive yourself home. That's one of the messages Tom Schmelzer of the local Tavern League wants to get across.
Schmelzer, who owns 27 Pines Golf Course in Sturgeon Bay, says the league sponsors a safe ride program to make sure patrons have options when it comes to getting a ride home...
Schmelzer says the Tavern League also sponsors many ball teams and local charities and lobbies for tavern- and patron-related causes.
"We're the ones in Madison or on the national level that make sure that only good things are passed and not things that don't benefit patrons," says Schmelzer. "There's millions of patrons that go to the pubs every year."
