Gettysburg Address At Peninsula State Park

Aside from the parades and fireworks displays, one of Door County's annual 4^th of July traditions is the recitation of the Gettysburg Address at Peninsula State Park.

This year's recitation is set for Tuesday, July 3 at 10 a.m. Charles Dickson will be presenting the famous three-minute speech, delivered by President Abraham Lincoln after the Battle of Gettysburg during the Civil War.

The program is free and open to the public, but a state park vehicle sticker is required. Patriotic art projects for children will follow. For more information contact the Peninsula Nature Center at 920-854-5976.
