I’m Jane Stevenson with the Women’s Fund of Door County, guest reporting for Door County Daily News.com.
June was a busy month for the Women’s Fund. On June 6 at a special grants reception, the Women’s Fund awarded 7 grants to Door County non-profits. Grants were awarded to the Boys and Girls Club, FISC, the Girl Scouts, NWTC, the Wellness Center, Sister Bay Historical Society and the YMCA. These grants are building self esteem, linking women and girls with health and safety resources and addressing the challenges for creative and cultural opportunities for women and girls.
The Women’s Fund teamed up with Tom and Sharon Lutsey of Waseda Farms for a late afternoon of children’s games, hayrides, watching baby animals and a free home-style picnic for Door County’s moms, families and their children. It was our way of thanking these hard working families in our community.

The Women’s Fund collaborated with Midsummers Music on June 19th to offer a unique dining and superb musical experience.
We look forward to our annual sell out Celebrate Women! Luncheon on August 22 at Stone Harbor. Guest speaker, Kathryn Childers, was one of the first female Secret Service agents, has been a broadcast journalist and a caring philanthropist. You may register at the Door County Community Foundation office or fill out a registration form at womensfunddoorcounty.org. Come join us for a wonderful event.
