The leader of the Northern Door branch of the YMCA is leaving for a new job.
Matt Luders, who's been Branch Executive at the YMCA program center in Fish Creek for the past four years, has accepted a position with Ministry Door County Medical Center.
Luders says the newly-created position will focus on outreach to local schools, businesses and organizations...
"I'm very, very excited," says Luders. "I cannot wait to step into that role."
Luders says the new job will be a good fit for him.
"I feel like I get to apply all of that experience, all of that learning that I've done up here in Fish Creek now with Ministry Door County Medical Center," says Luders. "It's very close to my home ... and the opportunity to lead a whole new effort is very, very intriguing to me so I'm very excited where we can take this."
But that doesn't mean Luders won't miss working at the Y...
Luders wants to thank the community, the Y leadership, the board of directors and all the volunteer leaders for their help.
"I cannot thank those folks enough," says Luders. "It made my job here a lot easier."
Luders says his last day at the Y will be July 13. His first day at the hospital will be July 16.
