If you're often stressed, impatient or "not in the moment," one cure for your ills could be meditation. Or yoga.
Classes of both types will be offered at the Wellness Center of Door County starting July 12.
Holistic practitioner Patti Wagner says meditation is a good way for people to slow down, become aware of their breath and learn to relax. She says yoga accomplishes many of the same things...
Wellness Center Executive Director Michele Geiger-Bronsky says keeping oneself centered is especially important in today's fast-paced society.
"If you think about how you go through your day and how many times you're holding your breath because you're getting frustrated or you're getting grumpy with someone," says Geiger-Bronsky. "That's where I think that the holistic practices that we're offering -- particularly the meditation and yoga -- can be so instrumental in terms of helping to bring people back in balance, and also along the lines of disease prevention."
