Visitors and residents in Ellison Bay now have a new spot to go to keep tabs on local events.
That's because Ellison Bay Service Club members have set up a Scandinavian-style kiosk near the Visitor Information chalet.
The purpose of the kiosk, like those in Scandinavian towns and cities, is to display news of current events and attractions around the community. The club says it’s the first one like it in Door County.
“We thank all of our members who spend their time and work so hard to make Ellison Bay an even more beautiful, friendly and accommodating place for visitors as well as residents,” says club president Kim Maedke-Shumway.
The kiosk was put up as part of the club's preparation for Olde Ellison Bay Days, which runs from Friday, June 22 through Sunday, June 24.

Ellison Bay Service Club members (From Left) Lee Telfer, Gary Kemp and Bill Kelly, placed Ellison Bay’s new Scandinavian-style kiosk beside the Visitor Information chalet at the intersection of Mink River Road and Highway 42.
