Investigators from the state Fire Marshal’s office were on the scene at Quarterdeck Marina in Sturgeon Bay Tuesday morning looking for a possible cause to the blaze that destroyed three boats Minday night. The fire was first reported at just after 7:00 p.m. on one boat and it is speculated that the breeze helped the fire spread to the other two boats.
Two of the three boats were docked at the facility on consignment for sale. Each was declared a total loss.
In addition to the damage to the boats, minor damage to the dock was also reported.
The boats were removed by Roen Salvage of Sturgeon Bay.
