The assessed value of the now-closed Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant was reduced last night from $502 million to just $l0 million. In an agreement reached between power plant owner Dominion Resources and the Town of Carlton, the agreed-upon value for 2014 tax assessments cannot be appealed.
The reduction was endorsed by Kewaunee County Board Chair Ron Heuer who spoke at the meeting.
Linda Sinkula charged Dominion with bullying town and county officials. Her unedited comments can be accessed below.
The meeting reducing Dominion's assessed value of the closed Kewaunee nuclear power plant by more than $490 million took less than 17 minutes.
