A Forestville teen was injured yesterday (Thursday) morning when he fell asleep at the wheel and struck a house in the Town of Brussels with his pick-up.
According to the report from the Door County Sheriff’s Department, Bailey DeGrave was eastbound on County J approaching Misere Road around 7:20 yesterday morning when he fell asleep. The truck crossed the center line, went through a ditch and struck a residence at the corner of J and Misere Road owned by Reggie Vandertie.
DeGrave was taken by ambulance for treatment of what were termed “incapacitating” injuries. He was also ticketed for inattentive driving. The truck was severely damaged.
No one in the house was injured. No estimate on the damage to the house was available.
