The future of the liquor license for the White Birch Inn in Sturgeon Bay has been referred to the Community Protection and Services Committee for further review.
White Birch owner Scott Nyholm requested the review in a letter received prior to Tuesday night’s Common Council meeting.
The Council had been asked to deny renewal of the license based on Nyholm’s failure to correct fire code violations.
Because the review is ongoing, the license will not expire at the end of the month. The Community Protection and Services Committee typically meets the second Thursday of the month and will look at the issue in July.
There may be one Class B Liquor and Beer License available in Sturgeon Bay on July 1. That’s the license that had been attached to the Neighborhood Pub. The Council may open that license up for applications, or choose to hold onto it.
