Eight state governors, including Governor Scott Walker, and two Canadian providence leaders have declared all-out war against invasive species of fish in the Great Lakes.
Michigan governor and co-chairman of the Council of Great Lakes Governors Rick Snyder announced the collaboration of several Great Lakes states, including Wisconsin, saying the threat of aquatic invasive species transcends borders. Invasive species targeted in the collaboration include Asian and silver carp, which are threatening to make its way into the Great Lakes.
The two-day gathering of the Council also addressed strategies for improving maritime transport and attracting Chinese and other foreign investment in manufacturing.
