Ten Thousand Chinook Salmon fIngerlings are adapting to life in the Kewaunee River.
Nick Legler is a fisheries biologist with the Department of Natural Resources based in Sturgeon Bay. He says the law has changed and for the first time allows the young fish to be kept in net pens.
Legler says the fish will be kept in the net pens for a couple of weeks before they are turned loose.
Legler says local fishing groups are playing a major role in the project.
