New technology brings new laws.
Governor Walker yesterday signed a bill making it illegal for an unmanned drone to make audio or video recordings in a place where you have a reasonable expectation of privacy. If police want to use a surveillance drone, they would need a warrant except in emergency situations. It is now also illegal to possess, operate or sell a weaponized drone in Wisconsin.
It is now a misdemeanor in Wisconsin to post nude or sexually explicit images of someone on line without their consent. Governor Walker signed the so-called revenge porn law yesterday. The law targets those who post an image of someone with the intention of causing them embarrassment or other harm. A fine of up to $10,000 and nine months in jail are possible.
