With a week to go before the winter utility disconnect moratorium ends, Kerry Spees of Wisconsin Public Service says a lot of people are scrambling to find a way to get caught up on their bill.
In many cases, deposits will be required to keep the service turned on. Spees says there are those who legitimately can’t afford to pay, and there those who just choose to take advantage and not pay for utilities from November to April. Those customers may see a surprise when they attempt to pay.
Spees says if you are behind on your utility bills and have not yet made arrangements, you need to call today to get the ball rolling on a payment plan.
