Governor Scott Walker crossed the state Monday signing a number of measures that are designed to reduce heroin deaths in Wisconsin. Walker signed the first bill in Marinette.
Among the new laws, trained emergency responders would be able to give someone suffering an overdose the antidote known as Narcan. Another provides immunity for anyone who calls to report a heroin overdose.
The bills were introduced by Representative John Nygren of Marinette, whose daughter has battled heroin addiction.
