The New Year often begins with good intentions which can quickly fall by the wayside if we don't create a personalized plan and stay goal oriented. No matter what your resolultions are, start your 2014 off right with a few of these suggestions for goal setting and success.
- Make success attainable with small easy-to-achieve steps that gradually lead to a bigger goal. For example: add in an extra 10 minutes of exercise each day, drink one extra glass of water a day, or add in and extra serving of fruit or vegetables to your daily nutrition plan. Small steps can add up to big changes.
- Keep goals specific and behavior focused. Write down the details of how, when and where, for each step toward your goal. Journaling your activities can help hold you accountable and measure your success by the evidence of your actions.
- Pick a reward for reaching your goals. Whether big or small your accomplishments toward better health deserve praise! How about a pedicure, massage, or new workout gear?
Don't get discouraged if things don't fall into place right away. Your goals need to be reasonable and timely. Create a true lifestyle transformation that is sustainable by adding in healthy habits and behaviors that will make you "Feel Better and Live Longer!".
