The Pines II “Asylum”

 

The Pines was Established in the 1920’s by the Guilette family. Serving Homemade Sandwiches and Belgian pies to the workers that traveled to ship yards in Sturgeon Bay from Green Bay during WWI & WWII..  From the 60’s to late 90’s The Pines was owned by Don & Flo Alsteen,  Son Chuck,  and  grandson Kyle. In 1999 they  added the Grill and Fryer.  The Sell family (Marty and Jan) established The Pines II “Asylum” in 1999 and added a daily Menu and Great Fish Menu.  For over 80 years this establishment has been at this location.   First bar in Door County and the Last Bar Out, Hwy 57.   Open 7 days a week. Open at 11am serving food whenever open…Toni, daughter, now manages The Pines II.

 

Today we have some of the same card players that were here before us. Our sponsored  are leagues, (Trap, 3rd Place 2004) (Darts, 1st Place 2004)( Volleyball, 1st Place 2004). Also Card and Dartball.  Weekend DJ’s, with a Labor Day Volleyball Tournament every year. We sponsor several local area clubs: Red River Riders Snowmobile Club & Walleyes for Tomorrow Door County Chapter. And the best Grass Snowmobile Drag Team (Me and the Boyz, 1st Place Points 2003, lots of trophy’s 2004, with high speed record, see picture) .  Have fun, Asylum really means just a retreat.
