COMMUNITY  CPR / AED  TRAINING                          

The Sister Bay & Liberty Grove Fire Department is partnering with the American Safety & Health Institute to offer classes to educate the community in the proper method of using an AED and performing CPR.   The 4-hour class will teach infant, child and adult CPR and offers a 2-year certification.  $15.00 per person will be charged to cover the cost of books, materials and a CPR mask.  REGISTER NOW! Classes are being offered at the Sister Bay Fire Station on Mill Road on:

  • Thursday, April 23, from 6 pm to 10 pm.

PENINSULA STATE PARK NATURE PROGRAMS

Saturday April 18 Nature Center open 10 AM - 1 PM. LIKE TO HIKE: Connector to Lone Pine Meet at Nature Center. Less talk, more walk on the park’s back trails as we watch for spring migrants and hepatica flowers. Counts towards earning your Like to Hike pin discount. About two miles. Trails may be muddy.

Algoma Optimist Variety Show

Come one - come all - come to the Algoma Optimist Variety Show and have a ball!  The Variety Show will be held on Saturday, April 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the Algoma P.A.C. (Algoma Elementary School), 514 Jefferson St., Algoma, WI 54201.  Algoma Mayor, Wayne Schmidt, will be the Emcee.  Come and enjoy various vocal, comedy, instrumental, and dance acts performed by members of the community!  You can also register your act by contacting Ann Schmitz at aschmitz 51@hotmail.com or (920)255-0343.  Tickets are $5 ahead at Baylake Bank, The Crows Nest, Kenny Chiropractic, or with any member of the Algoma Optimist Club.  $3.00 for kids under 11, and $6 at the door.

Viewing Night at the Astronomy Center
7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

The Astronomy Center will be open this Saturday, April 18 at dusk for viewing night.  Although the Leif Everson Observatory will not be open because of maintenance on the dome, members are encouraged to bring their telescopes and binoculars for the public to enjoy the sky over Door County in the StarGarden.  Boy Scouts are scheduled to attend and the weatherman has "promised" clear skies and mild temperatures.  The gate will be open soon after sunset at 7:30.  The address is 2200 Utah Street, turning left onto Skygazer Trail.

THE GOLDEN AGE OF COMEDY 2

Rogue Theater presented “The Golden Age of Comedy” last fall with overwhelming success.  Now they bring you the second edition with all new classic comedy sketches from the 50s, 60s and 70s.  Syd Caesar, Imogine Coca, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, Carol Burnett, Archie Campbell, Martin & Lewis, George & Gracie, and so many other television comedy greats will come to life on stage.Rogue Theater’s artistic director Stuart Champeau selected the wide cross section of “skits” from a multitude of Comedy Variety Shows.  The cast includes: Champeau, Lola DeVillers, Dan Sallinen, Marcel Bruyere, Alex Sanchez, and Keri Grimsley and Chris Milton. “The Golden Age of Comedy 2” is entertainment for the entire family.  Shows run April 10, 11, 17 and 18. Friday and Saturday at 7:30, Sunday matinee 2:00. Adults $15 and Student $8.
